There are 25 traditional regions in Slovakia, which are also considered tourism regions. The region Zamagurie and Tatry are often considered to be part of the Spiš region, because the territory of these regions was part of the Spiš county in the past.

List of tourism regions in Slovakia

In the publication Regionalization of tourism in the Slovak Republic, published by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic in 2004, the Tourism Regions are divided into 21 regions. The document is an aid and orientation for its users, not a binding document, it pursues two main goals: to design tourism regions in such a way that they cover the entire territory of Slovakia and to evaluate the potential of individual regions for the development of tourism and especially its most important forms.
